Carey Sobel is an entrepreneur, Exit Planning Advisor, and M&A professional based in Orlando, Florida. He is a co-owner and M&A Advisor at Boss Group International, where he specializes in lower-middle-market transactions. Carey works directly with business owners to value, position, and sell their companies, guiding them through the full transaction process from preparation to close.
Carey has advised on and successfully closed over 100 business transactions and is industry-agnostic, working with business owners across a wide range of sectors. As a multi-time entrepreneur and former business owner himself, he brings a practical, owner-first perspective to every engagement—helping sellers understand not just market value, but how buyers think, how diligence unfolds, and how deals actually get done based on real-world operating experience.
Carey holds multiple industry credentials, including Certified M&A Professional (CM&AP), Certified Business Intermediary (CBI), and Merger & Acquisition Master Intermediary (M&AMI). He is also a CEPA® (Certified Exit Planning Advisor) and Certified Value Builder™, further strengthening his ability to align business value, transaction strategy, and successful exits.
In addition to his work at Boss Group International, Carey serves as Chief Acquisition Officer at Coastal Investment Company, a private investment firm that provides successful individuals access to and guidance on institutional real estate and venture capital investment opportunities. Through Coastal, Carey helps M&A clients navigate critical post-transaction decisions, including tax mitigation, wealth preservation, and long-term capital growth, addressing the common questions business owners face after a liquidity event: what to do next and how to protect what they’ve built.
Previously, Carey founded and led an award-winning marketing firm, growing it from $100,000 in revenue in 2013 to over $12 million by 2024, working with global and national brands including Disney, Estée Lauder, AdventHealth, and L3Harris. He successfully exited the company in early 2024.
Carey has been recognized by the University of Central Florida with several honors, including the inaugural Young Alumni Award, the 30 Under 30 Award, and the Entrepreneurial Alumni Award from the College of Business. He was also named a 40 Under 40 by the Orlando Business Journal.
Originally from Philadelphia and now rooted in Orlando, Carey lives with his wife, Lauren, and their three children—Marley, Sloane, and Lennon. He is known for combining real-world operating experience with transaction expertise and is a trusted advisor to business owners seeking clarity, value maximization, and successful exits.
